HIGHLIGHTS – DAY 4 – Bonaire Youth World Cup | PWA Youth Windsurfing Slalom Tour

Day 4: Champions are Crowned as Bonaire Delivers Thrilling Finale

The final day of the 2026 PWA Youth & Junior Slalom World Cup brought the curtain down on a fantastic week of racing in Bonaire. Five more fin eliminations were completed in perfect Caribbean conditions, taking the total to 16 fin eliminations and delivering a fitting finale to an action-packed event.

The U21 Boys remained in the balance until the very end. Storm Nicolai launched one final charge in an attempt to overturn local favourite Tycho Smits, but the Bonairian remained calm under pressure to secure a hugely impressive victory on home waters. Nicolai had to settle for second, while Diederik Leemans completed the podium after holding off a late charge from Germany’s Mario Boekstegers, who enjoyed an excellent final day.

The U17 Boys saw a dramatic shake-up behind the leader. Arxon Gomperts capped another consistent week by sealing victory overall, but Thomas Michael saved his best until last, claiming a crucial bullet to climb into second place. Trevor Antony completed the podium with his best result to date on the Youth Tour, while Venezuela’s Adolfo Fernandez narrowly missed out after a superb comeback over the last two days.

The U17 Girls belonged entirely to Kit de Jong. The young Bonairian was unstoppable throughout the week, regularly beating many of the boys across the finish line and underlining why she is regarded as one of the brightest young talents in the sport. Twin sister Lone de Jong finished second, while Kimora Dammers celebrated her maiden PWA podium in third.

In the U15 Boys, Kenny Abrahamsz continued his excellent form to claim victory after another thrilling battle with Julien Blom. The pair have now shared the victories in Aruba and Bonaire and are emerging as one of the Youth Tour’s most exciting rivalries. Curaçao’s Adam Adriaans Tap secured his first PWA podium with third place.

With no further foil racing possible, the results from Day Three stood, meaning Tycho Smits and Bobbi-Lynn de Jong claimed the foil victories.

After four brilliant days of racing, the PWA Youth & Junior Slalom Tour now moves on to Denmark in September, where the next chapter of an exciting season awaits.
