Developing IMOCA boats around the sailors | with Sam Goodchild

How can you fit a full crew of five people on an IMOCA designed for solo sailing? And how important is it to design the boat around the sailor?
Sam Goodchild, skipper of Vulnerable takes Niall for a sail to give a slice of life onboard. Later Niall sneaks onto Thomas Ruyant’s new-generation sister boat designed by Antoine Koch/Finot Conq to check out how boat design is increasingly protecting the sailors onboard.
Sam also talks about gearing up for the next Vendée Globe, and his aim to compete in The Ocean Race Europe in summer 2025.
