🚨🗣️ The future of Antarctica is being decided in Australia next week!
On Monday, CCAMLR (the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources) opens its annual meeting at its Tasmania headquarters.📍 Delegates from 27 member countries will decide on krill catch limits and proposed marine protected areas (MPAS) in the Southern Ocean.
Antarctica needs stronger protection now. We’re calling on CCAMLR to:
1️⃣ Refuse any increase in the krill catch limit
2️⃣ Protect the Antarctic Peninsula and South Orkney Islands as no-take marine protected areas
3️⃣ Move the fleet out of whale feeding grounds by restoring rules that spread the catch
