HIGHLIGHTS FROM DAY 4 🇮🇨
After two days of Junior competition, finally the wind and waves picked up enough on Day 4 for us to get the Challenger rounds completed. It was a true battle of the local legends against the future stars and the freestylers!
In the men’s division, Josep Pons was a standout alongside Carlos Kiefer showing that even when the infamous Pozo wind isn’t showing its full strength, the local boys know what to do. Joining them in the main bracket are two of the hottest freestylers on tour – Lennart Neubauer and Takumi Moriya proving they have all the moves no matter the conditions!
On the women’s side of the draw, last years winner, the Queen of Pozo herself, Daida Moreno, had to fight amongst the upcoming talent through the Challengers for her spot in the main draw. You may be wondering why Daida Moreno wasn’t the top seed and the answer is that’s not how seeding works! Seeding takes into account your overall ranking from last season and your other top results, so one event win isn’t enough to give you a free pass into the main draw.
Successfully navigating these opening rounds, Daida is joined by Milanka Linde, Isabel van Noesel and Helena Lale!
