Things didn’t look promising first thing this morning, with extremely light winds greeting the fleet. But the locals said it would be windy at 9am, and almost bang on 9 the breeze picked up. By 9:30am the racing finally began.
The wind stayed light and tricky at 7-14 knots, with everyone reaching for their biggest kit, but after three lay days we have the first results of the week. Japan has a history of producing drama and it didn’t disappoint, with Fabian Wolf among five sailors disqualified in men’s quarter final 2 for a premature start, putting his chances of a World Title riding on getting 3 more eliminations completed tomorrow!
Blanca Alabau leads the women’s fleet after striking first blood, and Amado Vrieswijk leads the men, and with it the world title race on countback. With one day to go, it’s all still to play for…
Who takes the world titles?
Join us tomorrow for the final day of the season – livestream will be kicking off at 8:15am with racing from 8:30am (GMT+9).
