How far can the human body go when the mind learns to breathe differently?

Few people have done more to answer that question than Kirk Krack.

A pioneer in modern freediving education, Kirk is the founder of Performance Freediving International (PFI), creator of the world’s first comprehensive freediving instructional system, and a leading authority on breath-hold performance and safety. His work has helped athletes achieve 23 world records, influenced scientific research into human performance, and transformed the way freediving is taught around the world.

Beyond the diving community, his expertise has been sought by military special operations units, elite athletes, and some of Hollywood’s biggest productions, including Avatar: The Way of Water and the Mission: Impossible franchise.

At Diving Talks 2026, Kirk will share insights from nearly four decades spent exploring the limits of human performance, where physiology, psychology, safety, and adventure meet beneath the surface.

🎥 Watch Kirk’s introduction and tell us: what fascinates you most about freediving—the science, the mindset, or the adventure?

"Let’s Talk About Diving" is a speaker introduction series leading up to Diving Talks 2026, where some of the most respected voices in the underwater world come together to share ideas, stories, and inspiration.
