All tools have their place, particularly for diver recall or leading/teaching new divers and students.
BUT, they should be used sparingly, while also being respectful of the peace when other divers are in the area.
Are these (when used excessively) also not a symptom of poor buddy or student awareness? Or are they an effective tool for gaining attention from a distance or in low viz?
