Three eliminations, three different winners, but one very familiar name at the top as Pierre Mortefon asserts to place one-hand on Slalom X world title defence

The fourth day of the 2025 Playa Surf CBbC Hotel Tenerife El Médano Windsurf Grand Slam saw an exciting day of racing as El Médano’s combination of swell and chop resulted in a mixed bag of results for many of the top racers. With the Slalom X fleet still being on their biggest equipment, and with the wind still being relatively light for their setups, that meant that there wasn’t much room for error, so timing gybes with the swell was crucial in order to succeed. Today saw a further three eliminations completed, which resulted in three different winners; Jordy Vonk (Duotone Windsurfing), Pierre Mortefon (FMX Racing / NeilPryde) and Nico Prien (JP / NeilPryde), but it is Mortefon who now has a stranglehold over the event as he looks to defend his Slalom X world title.
