Welcome to the June 13th Global Sailing, World on Water Sailing Highlights Show.All of these videos have been released in the last seven days. After a bitterly disappointing first regatta of the season when they finished in an uncharacteristic last position in Saint-Tropez, France last month, the fortunes of the German flagged 2023 52 SUPER SERIES overall champions Platoon Aviation seem to have turned for the better.Harm Müller-Spreer's crew were the top scoring boat of the day at the GALICIA 52 SUPER SERIES Royal Cup in Baiona today posting a second and first to elevate themselves to second place on the regatta scoreboard.  The Scandinavian Gold Cup opened Thursday in Sopot, Poland, with seven 5.5 Metres competing for this historic and iconic trophy that dates back to 1922. Unfortunately, there was not enough wind to even complete one race.Meanwhile, next week's defending World Champions Ku-Ring-Gai 3, Australia 66, with John Bacon, Edward Wright, and Joost Houweling, won the only race completed in the President's Cup just six minutes inside the time limit. The Kiwis Shone on Day 3 of the 2025 49 er, 49 er F X and Nacra 17, European Championships, with Smart Racing and Strong Rivalry.The standout performers of the day were undoubtedly New Zealand’s Seb Menzies, and George Lee Rush, who delivered an impressive 2 3 1 scoreline, despite a grueling seven-hour day on the water. With long waits before races, the duo showed they’ve mastered the "on-off" switch, staying mentally fresh until it was time to perform, and perform they did. It was the Guardia di Finanza team that won this first stage of the 5th edition of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour, followed by the Marina Militare team and the Goztepe Yelken team from Turkey that won third place.For the Waswzp category, the victory went to the Marina Militare team, followed respectively by the Royal Madras team, and the Ocean Cruising team that closed the podium. Delivering an impressively consistent series across 10 races sailed in broad range of weather conditions, Doug DeVos’s US flagged crew of American Magic Quantum Racing, won the second regatta of the 2025 season to lift the prestigious Royal Cup for the fifth time since 2012.Although as Quantum Racing, powered by American Magic, they won the 2024 overall 52 SUPER SERIES season title, the young crew never quite managed to close out an event victory through 2023 and 2024.  Sails of Change 8, skippered by Yann Guichard, delivered an impressive performance on the final day of the T F 35 Mies Grand Prix, winning three out of four races, and solidifying their dominance throughout the event. Held from June 6 to 8, the regatta showcased the unpredictable nature of sailing on Lake Geneva, where mixed wind conditions kept teams on their toes. A long standing member of Annapolis Yacht Club supplied new Snipes, new sails and coaching to create a novel opportunity for junior sailors at both Annapolis Yacht Club and Severn Sailing Association. The concept is for juniorr. sailors to experience "adult" sailing on a large scale, and the Snipe is the perfect platform requiring tuning, tactical excellence, and athleticism. With over 50 boats, including four junior. teams, this year's Colonial Cup at Severn Sailing Association in Annapolis, saw the successful launch of the Snipe Junior Program. The 2025 ILCA Masters Nationals were proudly hosted by Hayling Island Sailing Club, drawing nearly 120 entries, including 60 Ilca 6's. Over three days of challenging conditions, competitors delivered exceptional racing in conditions that tested their mettle but were embraced with enthusiasm and resilience. It was a true showcase of the grit, courage, and skill that defines this remarkable community of sailors.

The 2025 Two-Handed IRC National Championship was decided over two races within the RORC Season’s Points Championship, combining the results of the Cervantes Trophy Race and the Myth of Malham Race. With 33 entries from Austria, France, Great Britain and the Netherlands, the competition was intense. Tim Goodhew & Kelvin Matthews racing Sun Fast 3200 Cora were crowned national champions by a whisker from Sam White & Sam North racing JPK 10.80 Muzungu!. Simon Bamford’s Sun Fast 3300 Kestrel racing with Ollie Grogono completed the podium. Meet the Principal Race Officer, Eric Reitenger, a St. Mary's alumni, and several of the seniors who just graduated college, sailing their final event of their college sailing career. Bent Christian Wilhelmsen’s Otto has won the 2025 5.5 Metre German Open in Warnemunde after only one final race was possible on Saturday in very light winds. New Moon III took second with Ali Baba in blue ) in third and the first German boat. It was always going to be the lightest day of the event, but again the reality was much lighter than the forecast. Starting in just 4-5 knots the wind got lighter and lighter ending in barely a zephyr as the fleet inched around the course. Further racing was abandoned. The 52 SUPER SERIES now has a proud history of continued success since being established in 2012 very soon becoming renowned as the world’s leading grand prix monohull yacht racing circuit. Indeed 2022 saw the tenth anniversary celebrations, back in Barcelona where it all began at the Trofeo Conde de Godo regatta in May 2012, and really the circuit has gone from strength to strength with new teams continuing to join and owners building new race boats as they seek potential gains. For the Luna Rossa team, the month of May marked the full resumption of activities ahead of the 38th America’s Cup: the Cagliari base is fully active and the sailors have begun training on the AC40, getting ahead of their rivals. Around the same time, the Defender announced Naples as a future Cup venue, and the Vespucci ship met with the team upon returning from its World Tour. The spotlight is back on Luna Rossa. The Maxi Banque Populaire XI received 2 wins out of 2 at the start of the season. With a start and a night in a small time and the arrival of more favourable conditions, the Maxi Banque Populaire XI, will have experienced different navigation configurations during its victory over the ArMen Race. A strategic race that allowed Armel Le Clerk, Sébastien Josse and the crew to test the Ultim and prepare for future deadlines.

In 2025, Antigua Sailing Week was attended by two top end offshore racing yachts from very different times. Launched in 1974, the 79 foot Kialoa 3 was all conquering on the world stage for many years. Today Pyewacket 70, a modified Volvo 70, is one of the fastest 70 footers around. In this film we compare these two legends from different times. In an ironic twist, Ben Mitchell who currently races onboard Pyewacket, also used to race on Kialoa III , 50 years ago - including during the 1975 Sydney Hobart race where K3 set a record that stood for 21 years. Day one of the Swan Bonifacio Challenge opened in spectacular style, with bright sunshine, building breeze, and picture-perfect conditions off the Corsican coast. With gusts reaching 25 knots and a lively sea state, crews were tested from the first gun, and delivered a day of fast, competitive sailing. Smiles on the dock and spray on the lens; Bonifacio is off to a flying start. The Maxi Banque Populaire XI wins the Tour de Belle-Ile 2025. First challenge of the season brilliantly by Armel Le Cléac'h and his crew, who faced more than 300 boats in this mythical race around Belle-Ile-en-Mer. A great performance that perfectly launches the 2025 season. The first day of the ILCA World Championship qualifying series brought a dual challenge of tide and wind to the waters off Qingdao. According to the Chinese lunar calendar, today marks the 15th day of the fourth month — a period known for the strongest tidal currents of the month. Low tide occurred at 10:35, and the current remained flooding throughout the racing window, peaking at high tide at 16:20. Making what proved to be the decisive winning move on the final run of the second and final race today, Britain’s Tony Langley and his world champion crew, secured overall victory at the first regatta of the five event 2025 52 SUPER SERIES season, the 52 SUPER SERIES Saint Tropez Sailing Week. The Jean Genie took a commanding lead on a very tricky opening day of the 2025 5.5 Metre Alpen Cup at Fraglia Vela Riva, on Lake Garda, Italy. Racing at this year’s Antigua Sailing Week is so close that one-third of the classes started the penultimate day with boats tied on points at the top of their respective leaderboards. The Peters & May Round Antigua Race 2025 is the perfect way for any team to tune up for Antigua Sailing Week. Roy Disney’s Pyewacket 70 takes line honours after fierce battle with Lee Overlay Partners 3, Two very different yachts proved to be almost perfectly matched for much of today’s challenging and memorable edition of this classic 50-mile course. Sailing with an all-star crew, Roy Disney’s turbocharged Volvo 70, Pyewacket, took a narrow early lead along Antigua’s south-eastern coast. The excitement of the Presidential 6th International Yacht Races in Çanakkale kicks off with the Istanbul Bosphorus stage. Starting on April 23 in Istanbul, the race will set the stage for the thrilling Çanakkale leg.Held under the auspices of the Presidency of Türkiye, with contributions from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Çanakkale Wars Gallipoli Historical Site Presidency, Çanakkale Governorship, and the Turkish Tourism Agency, the event is organized by the Istanbul Offshore Yacht Racing Club and sponsored by DHL Express.  It is the 60th anniversary of this prestigious event in sailing, the ‘Grand Daddy’ of match racing regattas. Whilst golf has its green jacket, in sailing we have the ‘Crimson Blazer’ of the Congressional Cup. Look down the past winners of the Congressional Cup and it’s a veritable who’s who of the sport: Conner, Turner, Perry, Davis, Cudmore, Warden-Owen, Gilmour, Dickson, Hutchinson, Davis, Barker, Holmberg, Brady, Baird…the list just goes on and on and on. The MacIntyre Mini Globe Race 2025 is rewriting sailing history! 15 solo sailors are racing identical 19ft plywood boats, ALMA Globe 580s, around the world, and Leg 2 from Panama to Fiji has become an epic 7,300-mile battle against the Pacific’s fury. The Blenkinsop duo POPEYE and John, DELJA 99 and 100 Australia finally cleared Panama three weeks behind the fleet, but immediately began chipping away at the deficit. Their daily radio check-ins have become a fleet favorite, mixing tactical discussions with heated debates about cricket statistics all thanks to Starlink. Olympic Glod Medallist, Lijia Xu, is a shining symbol of perseverance and courage. She is good at sailing and a role model for young people.She rose to become an Olympic gold medallist in sailing — the first Asian to do so in the Laser Radial class. Her journey from a determined 10-year-old girl to a global champion proves that no obstacle is too great when matched with passion, resilience, and a dream that refuses to die. In CSA Racing Class 2 Woody Cullen’s Swan 58 WaveWalker won both her races, including a victory in the second race by a scant 36 seconds over Don Terwilliger’s, Beneteau First 47 point 7, Dauntless. Wayne Zittel, X-Yachts, X P 50 D N R rounded out the podium in third.

At precisely 13:02 last Sunday, the 19 mixed duos taking part in the Transat Paprec, set sail from Concarneau. After the emotional goodbyes on the pontoons, the fleet tackled a spectacular coastal course under a brooding grey sky, yet enjoyed mild sailing conditions, a north-westerly breeze of 10 to 15 knots, before heading into the Atlantic. Another small clip on how the 18 Footers round marks or fight for bouy room. The Americas Cup is in disarray as teams leve after the kiwis release a new protocol. With firing conditions from the start, the Men hit the water first, 2 waves and 1 jump to count, and the pace was full throttle. Heats were quickly shortened as riders filled scorecards with ease. Some 230 of the UK’s top young talents took part in the 2025 RYA Youth National Championships. UK Youth Champions were decided Friday 18 April in the Ilca 6, Ilca 7, 4 20, 29er, Nacra 15 and i Q Foil classes. The results are used to select the British Youth Sailing Team, who will represent Great Britain at international regattas. This includes the Youth World Championships as well as the domestic youth squad for the year ahead. Meet the incredible olympic sailors during the Semaine Olympique Française. The 2nd stage of the Sailing Grand Slam taking place from the 19th to the 26th of april, in He air, Toulon Provence France. Day 1 had 729 competitors, from 56 nations. All 10 fleets were on the water, and the 31 races saw the Next Olympic generation shining. The 56th edition of French Olympic Week (Semaine Olympique Française de He air, Toulon Provence) began in classic Côte d'Azur conditions as 729 competitors from 56 nations started six days of racing.

Videos released in the past 7 days, weekly since 2010. We start our highlights reeel in England as the Royal Ocean Racing Club Launches their Cowes Offshore Racing Series. This year’s 45th St. Maarten Heineken Regatta brought together 100 plus boats from 28 countries, featuring thrilling races across classes, from ocean racing machines, to bare boats, cruising catamarans, and performance trimarans. For all four days the schedule was packed with "Serious Fun", including the iconic Around the Island Race, and the high-energy, Diam 24 Beach Stadium Races, in Grand Case. Holcim P R B announce their crew for the upcoming The Ocean Race Europe. It's starr studded. The northerly offshore wind produced a minefield of a race course for the 2025 Finn Europeans in Naples with big holes, big shifts, gusts, lines, and patches all over the Gulf of Naples, that left many sailors pointing all directions while trying to head in one direction. While the wind was slightly more stable in the first race, in the second it ranged from 5 to 12 knots. However, many of the same names featured at the top mark in better condition than others. Meet Robert Scheidt, a sailing hero who left an indelible mark on the sailing community. With an impressive 5 Olympic medals to his name, Scheidt is undoubtedly one of the brightest stars in the sailing league. From his early days on the water to his triumphs on the international stage, we explore the achievements of this sailing legend. Italy’s Federico Colaninno made the best of the third day at the 2025 Open Finn Europeans in Naples, Italy, with a first and a second, in a gradually veering breeze through the day. Championship leader Valerian Lebrun, from France, responded with a third and a first to maintain a narrow lead with just two days to go. Italy’s Arkadii Kistanov is back up to second with Estonia’s Deniss Karpak in third. It's always close in the 18 footers and protests are hotly contested. Here is one of the latest, highly charged and it all worked out in the end. Valerian Lebrun, from France, has won the 2025 Open Finn European Championship in Naples, Italy, after two final races on Saturday, in a drama packed day that nearly cost him his first major Finn title. Italy’s Federico Colaninno pushed him all the way and took second just 5 points behind, while also winning the U29 championship. With two fleets already on their way and one more start still to come. The race is now in full swing, building momentum toward 5,500 nautical-mile battle to Osaka! The Melbourne Osaka Cup is the world’s longest south-to-north double-handed yacht race, testing endurance, skill, and resilience. This year’s fleet features a strong Corinthian spirit, with several family teams taking on the challenge together—including the race’s first-ever mother–daughter, [Fika], and father–daughter, [Magellan], duos and three Japanese teams. In celebration of International Women's Day, female sailors took center stage at the Volvo Ladies Helm 2025 event, hosted by the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club. With 47 boats across seven classes competing, the regatta showcased the strength, skill, and determination of women in sailing. Day 2 of the 2025 Hansa and Para World Championships on Pittwater and competitors and officials alike were hoping for a more stable breeze than what was dished up to them yesterday and while the wind wasn't as fresh as Day 1, the shifty conditions prevailed but did not get the better of the international competitors who are making their presence felt. The second 2025 ILCA UK National Open (formerly known as the Qualifiers) commenced last weekend at WPNSA with the Rooster/Noble Marine Open 2, attracting another impressive entry of nearly 160 boats. The ILCA 7 fleet of 29 boats, were met with considerably warmer temperatures compared to the previous weekend. Weymouth Bay delivered a steady easterly breeze ranging between 5 and 15 knots along with some sea state. This meant boatspeed was key as well as making the most of any shifts coming down the course.

In February, the Pogo Structures shipyard launched the very first R C, a pure IRC racing sailboat. Designed to compete in the legendary offshore races of the IRC circuit (Rolex Fastnet Race, Transquadra, Transat Cap-Martinique, Middle Sea Race, and Sydney-Hobart), the pogo R C, is specifically designed for long solo or double-handed regattas, but also aims to offer a crew of four to five people a sporty platform for shorter regatta courses. We celebrate the women of The Ocean Race. The 45th Saint Maarten Heineken Regatta, started off with a bang, as fleets were sent offshore and around the island, for day 1 of racing. Day two of the Regatta, brought contrasting conditions and iconic Saint Maarten scenes along the Dutch coastlines. The morning started out with blue skies, bright sunshine, and a light breeze as teams gathered by the two startlines in Cole Bay and Simpson Bay. Day three of the 45th Saint Maarten Heineken Regatta had non-stop racing action happening on both Dutch and French sides of the island, with a special beach-stadium race in Grand Case! The forecast was described as light and variable, but once again, sailors were prepared for a day of challenging conditions. The final day of racing was nothing short of legendary to wrap up the regatta. Fleets made their way to their designated start boats out in Cole Bay and Simpson Bay. It was a delayed start waiting for the wind to fill in, so fleets were running the line, sailing through a sea of spectator boats who were waiting for the action to start. In 1967, the forward-looking vision of His Highness the Aga Khan, led to the founding of the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda. Since then, Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, served as the Club’s President, guiding it to achievements that have shaped the history of Italian sailing and established the YCCS as an international benchmark in the yachting world.

The Juan K 88, Lucky, skippered by Bryon Ehrhart, clinched Monohull Line Honours with an impressive performance in an elapsed time of 1 day 17 hours 14 minutes and 12 seconds. Lucky is on a winning streak, having claimed Monohull Line Honours and set a new race record for the R O R C Transatlantic Race this January. The 44 Cup,, a global racing tour, with owner-drivers and professional crews, descended on the BVI for some warm water and hot racing in the winter months. The Nanny kay Cup, the series finale of the 44Cup took place in December, and the 2025 season opener concluded at Nanny kay. The Royal BVI Yacht Club, hosted the event with Nanny kay. The reason for having a week-long regatta is meant to put sailors to the test for different weather conditions. Summing up the Sun Hung Kai & Co. Hong Kong Race Week 2025, incorporating the 2025 29er Asian Championship, "All races were completed to schedule. There was a little bit too much fog which really did hamper the racing, and the visibility because when it's not foggy, Hong Kong is a beautiful place to look at, but the sailors are all in and safe. The IRC Super Zero class of the RORC Caribbean 600, showcased a fierce yet friendly rivalry among some of the world’s fastest offshore monohulls. Teams demonstrated exceptional boat handling on a course that weaves day and night through islands and rocky outcrops. Tschüss 2 was the winner of IRC Super Zero Class after time correction. Second was Mills 72, Balthasar, with Louis Balcaen at the helm. George Procopiou’s, Volvo 70, Aiolos took third after IRC time correction, by less than an hour from Balthasar. The 2025 Teakle Classic Lincoln Week has been run and won with the winners locked away for another year. Division 1 IRC – Reverie, Alan Woodward. Division 1 AMS & PHS, – Road Runner, Paul Heyes. Division 2 IRC, – Clockwork, Andrew Lloyd. Division 2 AMS, – Loch Sloidh 2, Peter Macfarlane. Division 2 PHS, – Audacious, Stuart Johnson. Division 3, PHS, – Too Hot to Trot, Craig Bascombe. The multihull battle came to a conclusion with Marc Guillemot’s, MG5, Wellness Training, taking Multihull Line Honours in an elapsed time of 2 Days, 7 hourrs, 51 Minits, 17 seconds. Thomas Kassberg’s, ORC 50, Malolo, was just over 20 minutes behind, but after time correction was the winner of the Multihull Class. In essence, honours were shared between the two teams, and a beer afterwards.

The 3rd edition of the Royal Ocean Racing Club Nelson’s Cup Series, was a spectacular regatta with a total of 35 boats taking part, including for the first time, a maxi class with eight powerful boats revelling in the big conditions. The Nelson’s Cup Series is the perfect prequel to the Caribbean 600, which started on Monday 24th February. This is your weekly Global Sailing Highlights show, the world on Water, February 28th, 2025. The highly anticipated 16th edition of the Royal Ocean Racing Club's Caribbean 600, blasted off from Fort Charlotte, Antigua, right on schedule. All five starts went off flawlessly as the diverse fleet of 66 international entries launched into the ultimate offshore tropical challenge, an exhilarating race weaving through 11 stunning Caribbean islands. With the trade winds pumping over 16 knots from just south of east and gusting up to 20 knots, the stage was set for a spectacular showdown in paradise. The headline is, Jenna Gibson, Breaks Windsurfing Speed Record. We have an exclusive Interview with her at the R-Y-A Dinghy & Watersports Show! Quiet and shy on first appearances, yet the minute she steps on a slalom board, Jenna Gibson becomes a force to be reckoned with. Undefeated in the I-F-C-A World Championships since 2018, Jenna is undoubtedly the queen of the fin! Arnaud Boissières’, the skipper of La Mie Câline, informed his technical team that he had dismasted late in the Vondee Globe. He was 27th in the race, and he was more than 2,500 miles from the finish, at the longitude of Cape Verde in a group of five skippers. Arnaud explained that he had secured his boat, and that he was headed to Cape Verde. The Lay Sabb d-lonn based Boissières, is the only skipper to have finished four Vondée Globe races in succession, having taken part in every edition since 2008. Grae Morris, born 16 October 2003, is an Australian sailor. He competed in the I-Q-Foil event at the 2024 Summer Olympics, where he won the silver medal. Morris grew up in the eastern suburbs of Sydney. His father, Brett Morris, was a former national windsurfing champion. By the age of 11, he was competing at Formula and Slalom events across Australia, transitioning to the foil discipline at age 14. The Megga's BBQ race, is always a fan favourite at Lincoln Week. This year we caught up with birthday boy Caillin Howard from Fresh, as well as 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist Lily Xu, who is in Port Lincoln sailing on Reverie. Alan Woodward's, Reverie, looks to be in a good position on overall IRC, but with Port Lincoln-based Sydney 47, Fresh, being chartered by the Secret Men's Business crew, it made for a super close battle. Solo around the world racing today changed forever as thirteen men and two women from eight countries today set sail from the small Caribbean Island of Antigua Barbuda, to race solo around the world in Mini, 19ft, 5.8 meter, ALMA Globe. 5 80 yachts, their only home for the next 13 months. WHY? To prove something to themselves no doubt, but they may not know that yet. This gruelling marathon has only just begun. It will not be easy. Leg one is to Panama 1200 miles to the west. Then it is another 24000 miles back to Antigua.

After a light wind 44Cup Nanny Cay concluded the 2024 season, it was with great anticipation that the 44Cup teams awaited 2025’s opening event in the British Virgin Island, for which stiff trade winds have been forecast for some days. Unfortunately on this, the opening day of the event and the start of the 2025 44Cup season, the easterly trade winds proved too much. With 25 knots considered the maximum in which the nimble RC44 one designs can race, the wind strength hovered around 25-26 knots for the entire time the race committee boat was on station out in the St Francis Drake Channel. This 21st Royal Langkawi International Regatta (RLIR) saw the wind gods cooperating generously from calm conditions with 5 to 15 knots on the opening day to gusts reaching 25 knots on the dramatic ‘Around the Island Course’, the regatta kept sailors on their toes. With 35 boats representing 9 countries and over 270 participants, every moment of this event was a testament to dedication and skill. With no wind for the final day of the Sun Hung Kai and Company, Hong Kong Race Week 2025, the championships were awarded in accordance to the previous day's results. After three days of racing, Hong Kong, China Olympian Nicholas Halliday ended up 5 points ahead of Peter Jessop in the ILCA 7. In the star-studded ILCA6 class after nine races, fellow Hong Kong, China Olympian Stephanie Norton won the division 5 points ahead of her teammate Nancy Highfield with Japanese sailor Nana Funazawa in third. There was a big fleet of 25 entries in the Optimist Green Fleet, where young sailors get to have their first ever racing experience in a regatta and which included 14 young sailors from the Mainland of China. Chinese sailor Yang Meng from Whisper of the Wind Sports Club, took the win. In the 29er class, which incorporated the 2025 29er Asian Championship, the top scoreboard remained unchanged since the first day, with local sibling team Tiffany Mak, and Raphael Mak, wrapping up the event. On Sunday October 26, the Ultim, the Ocean Fifty, the Imoca, and the Class 40 divisions will start their TRANSAT CAFÉ L'OR, Le Havre Normandie, at 15 minutes intervals. The Four consecutive starts will ensure the excitement and drama is prolonged and the spotlight falls equally on each class. The competing duos, pairs of co-skippers, will be setting off on the Route du Café, each following different courses which should see the four winning pairs arrive in Martinique at the same time, and so enjoy the same focus and excitement. A first for the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club hosted, Pantaenius Pittwater Regatta, was the Australian Sports Boat Championship, and the Sydney 38, One-Design, New South Wales Championships. The final three races were inshore windward/leewards. The exciting Grand Slam of the Hellenic Nautical Club returned for its second phase, which took place on February 15 and 16, 2025. After an impressive first phase in December, the teams are preparing for even more intense "duels" in match racing. The Grand Slam is the new match racing championship of the Hellenic Nautical Club and the exclusive qualification process for the final of the Hellenic Match Racing Tour 2025. The Hellenic Nautical Club has been cultivating match racing for years through its Spanos Luxury Cars – Range Rover Match Racing Center . A glimpse onboard 19ft plywood mini yacht "Numbatou", skippered by Jasmine Harrison of the UK, during the 3,000-mile Globe 580 Transat, from Marina Rubicón Lanzarote, to the National Sailing Academy, Antigua. On February 24 2025, these adventurous sailors will depart Antigua to circumnavigate the world solo in the Mac-Intyre Mini Globe Race, 2025.
It was a wonderful surprise for Violette Dorange! With just two days to go before the finish, the young sailor got a wonderful surprise as the French Navy’s, Atlantique 2, flew over her Imoca, DeVenir. Inside the aircraft, a familiar voice comes through the VHF, Charlie Dalin, the race winner! they had a short, but powerful exchange, giving her an extra boost for the final miles. Act 3 of Season five, of Sail-G-P, was held laast weekend in Sydney and the big winner was British team skipper, Dylan Fletcher. Fletcher who has been tasked to replace Sir Ben Ainslie sailed a powerful final race to bring home the cash for his first ever winning team. Northstar Canada SailGP Team, finished second, and hometown favorites, Australia came in third. Linking two seaports dating from the U S nation's birth, Annapolis and Newport, the race provides a contrast between the country's largest estuary, the Chesapeake Bay, and the Atlantic Ocean. The 2025 Annapolis to Newport Race starts on June 6 and 7, 2025. A glimpse onboard, 19ft plywood mini yacht, "Delja100", skippered by Australian, John Blenkinsop, during the 3,000-mile, Globe 580 Transat, from Marina Rubicón, Lanzarote, to the National Sailing Academy, Antigua. On February 24 2025, these adventurous sailors will depart Antigua to circumnavigate the world solo in the McIntyre Mini Globe Race 2025. Incredibly 2025 will mark the 17th season for the R C 44, one designs. For the new season, the 44 Cup will comprise five events, including an official World Sailing-endorsed, World Championship, providing a fine blend of the highest quality, owner-driver, keelboat, competition, in some of the world’s finest sailing venues.

In the Multihull Battle in the Royal Ocean Racing Club Transatlantic Race Oran Nataf’s, Pulsar 50, Rayon Vert, (France) crossed the finish line outside Camper and Nicholsons, Port Louis Marina Grenada, to be the first multihull to finish the 2025 Transatlantic Race. “I am very proud to be the skipper of this boat with a great crew, ” commented Oran Nataf. The first iQFOiL International Games of the season has come to an exciting close in Marina Rubicón Lanzarote, after five days of intense racing featuring the world’s best iQFOiL athletes. With strong winds, shifting conditions, and a new Medal Series format, the racing kept everybody on the edge of their seats until the very end. Johan Søe, of Denmark, delivered a stellar performance, while Brit, Emma Wilson, 2024 Olympic bronze medalist, proved unstoppable throughout the week. The 54th edition of the Trofeo Princesa Sofia Mallorca will be the starting signal for the race for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles 2028. The first qualifying event for the 2025 Sailing Grand Slam will muster all ten sailing disciplines of the new Olympic cycle in the Bay of Palma from March 28 to April 5. The Australian 18 Footers League celebrated its 90th Anniversary and the past weekend with three days of action-packed racing over Sydney Harbour - from east of the Sydney Opera House to Middle Harbour in the north. The annual Super Sprint Series, for the Balmain Cup, got the activities under was on Friday evening with three short races, sailed over windward-return courses. Australian and Giltinan champion teams in Finport Finance, Rag and Famish Hotel, and Yandoo, won the three races, but it was the excellent consistency over the three races which gave the Lazarus Capital Partners team, of Tom Cunich, Josh Feldmann and Paddy Bannon overall victory.
Emerging relieved and happy out of a dark, windy night off Les Sables d’Olonne, Jérémie Beyou, crossed the finish line of his fifth Vendée Globe at zero 58 (UTC), to take fourth place from the record fleet of 40 starters. The elapsed time for the 48 year old skipper of Charal is 74 days, 12 hours, 56 minutes and 54 seconds and he finishes 9 days, and 17 hours, behind race winner Charlie Dalin, (Macif Santé Prévoyance). The Royal Ocean Racing Club is delighted to announce that Volvo 70, Tschüss 2 (USA), owned by RORC member Christian Zugel, is the overall winner of the 2025 RORC Transatlantic Race. While the majority of boats are still racing, none of the competitors at sea can beat Tschüss 2's corrected time under IRC, to win the race overall. Tschüss 2, completed the race in an elapsed time of 8 Days, 13 Hours, 52 Minutes, and 51 Seconds. The solo voyage around the world begins in a 19ft plywood mini yacht "Immortal Game", skippered and built by Australian Dan Turner. Marina Lagos to Marina Rubicón, Lanzarote. The 2025 W L T H, 18 Footers Australian Championships, came to a close last week after a light day out on Brisbanes' Moreton Bay. Rag and Famish took out the 2025 Australian Championship with a race to spare, whilst Marine Outlet, took home their first race win of the season. The Melges 15 Class broke registration records, with 109 boats, at the 2024-25 Winter Series, Event 2, at the new Melges Watersports Center. The weekend featured a clinic led by Coach Paris Henken, six races, a half-mile starting line, and zero general recalls. Charters are available for the February and March events. Andy Burdick shares tactics and boat-handling techniques for racing the MC Scow in light airs. It’s week 12 of the Vendée Globe, and Boris is closing in on the finish line in Les Sables-d'Olonne! After enduring weeks of punishing upwind sailing, he finally has the wind at his back - but the challenges aren’t over yet, with strong winds and heavy seas still ahead. Despite a broken port foil limiting his speed and damaged electronics adding to the difficulties, Boris is navigating Malizia-Seaexplorer with skill and determination.

The J 3, is the sail that is used in heavy weather, and the system that holds it broke. So Violette had to climb the mast of her Imoca to fix the halward fittings. The skipper of CHARAL is well set for fourth place. The comaraderdie between the sailors in the Vendee Globe is touching. It is good to see the skippers appreciate their oppositions great performances. The BPI Busuanga Cup 2025 showcased not just skill but the power of strategy and preparation. With shifting winds demanding precise maneuvers and calculated decisions, the competition proved what it takes to race at the highest level. Across both offshore and inshore races, it was a true test of planning, execution, and adaptability on the water. Sam Goodchild, the British skipper of the yacht VULNERABLE, informed his technical team shortly before 1pm, that his mainsail had torn. It literally exploded during an untimely gybe under autopilot, at the level of the 3rd batten, across the entire width, from leech to luff, as the yacht battled winds of almost 30 knots. Sam resumed his course, mainsail down, with the J2 and J3 in scissors. He had been fighting tooth and nail since the latitude of Itajai in Brazil with Jérémie Beyou, (Charal), for 4th place at the time of the incident. Certainly one of the great revelations of this Vendée Globe, Sam, showing since the start great skill, calm and limpid navigation, appeared at the head of the fleet many times at the beginning of the race. He will now throw his last forces to finish his first Vendée Globe, in the best possible place.

The 11th edition of the Royal Ocean Racing Clubs Transatlantic Race, launched in spectacular style, with perfect sailing conditions just outside Marina Lanzarote. The stunning backdrop of Arrecife, and the excitement in the air, set the stage for an unforgettable start to this iconic ocean adventure. This is the latest video from Charlie Dalins' sponsor Macif. What a great race, how good was his boat and his planning. It's a requisite to have a strong team behind the entrant. Francoise Gabart, a previous winner, built a strong team around Charlie. It paid off, big time. The Globe 580 Transat saw 12 entrants racing from Lanzarote to Antigua across the Atlantic. Many who compete in the Transat aim to continue their journey by entering the Mini Globe Race, building on their Atlantic crossing experience. 15 entrants will take part in this ambitious circumnavigation event, requiring participants to sail around the world in their Class Globe 5.80 yachts. Great Britain’s Ian Williams and his Pindar, by Manuport Logistics Team, of Richard Sydenham, Jon Gundersen, and Gerry Mitchell, have been crowned champions of the inaugural Macao Match Cup, the opening event of the 2025 World Match Racing Tour. Williams defeated New Zealand’s Nick Egnot-Johnson, and his Knots Racing crew, 3-1 in a tense final. By popular demand the 2025 52 SUPER SERIES returns to two venues, which were new to the circuit in 2022, and 2023. They are followed by an overdue visit to Cas-cais Portugal, for the third event, the Rolex TP52 World Championship, the fourth is hosted by the ever popular, Puerto Portals, in late August, before a long anticipated return to the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, in Porto Chervo, for the season’s finale in September. In the Royal Ocean Racing Clubs, Transatlantic race, IRC Two, Andrew and Sam Hall’s, Lombard 46, Pata Negra, from Great britain, has made a great start to the Transatlantic Race to lead the class on the water, and after IRC time correction. Pata Negra is also estimated to be second overall for the race. Second on the water just 10 miles behind Pata Negra is Class 40, Tequila, also from great britain, skippered by Alister Richardson. Third on the water, but estimated to be second in class after IRC time correction is Jouko Kallio’s, Swan 651, Spirit of Helsinki, representing Finland.

Benefiting from being slightly further west than Vondée Globe leader,Charlie Dalin, (MACIF Santé Prévoyance), Yoann Richomme, has remained slightly faster and so has continued to shave a few more miles off his deficit to the leader. In the rest of the fleet Briton Sam Goodchild, (VULNERABLE), continues with his head-to-head against Jérémie Beyou, (Sharral), racing for fourth and fifth. Germany’s Boris Herrmann, (Malizia Seaexplorer, 9th), climbed the mast last night and lashed his J 2 to the head of its forestay after his hook system broke. Jean Le Cam, (Tout commence en Finistère – Armor Lux, 14th), has made a nice gain, breaking away from the pack chasing him while Éric Bellion, (STAND AS ONE – Altavia, 28th), has decided to take shelter in the lee of the Falklands after his J 2 attachment repair gave way.

There are still 2,400 nautical miles to sail to the finish for the leaders of this epic Vendée Globe and Yoann Richomme on Paprec Arkéa in second place has not given up hopes of winning on debut.   But the two-time Figaro champion says he will be delighted for his old rival Charlie Dalin,  the skipper of Macif Santé Prévoyance,  if he manages to complete this race ahead of him after taking line honours four years ago but then finishing second on corrected time. Here is Yoanns' latest report from his boat,  Paprec Arkea. This is youe weekly Global Sailing Highlights,  the World on Water,  January 10, 2025. Thomas Coville,  of Sodebo,  was on his second attempt to break the Jules Verne,  round the world speed record,  but after the first had to be abandoned,  due to a foil breakage,  now,  on his next,  his central rudder has broken.  So,  once again he has retired to fix the damage. The final day of the Wireless Communications International 505 World Championships in Adelaide,  Australia,  was crazy.  Racing started early at 11am.  Two races were planned.  The weather was beautiful,  the breeze in the morning was easterly,  straight offshore.  And an upset was on the cards.  Here's what happened. The Mini Globe Race is a single-handed round-the-world yacht race contested in Class Globe 5.80 yachts. The first edition of the Mini Globe Race will commence on February 23, 2025. The proposed course is westward,  transiting the Panama Canal and rounding the Cape of Good Hope. The race is expected to cover more than 26,000 miles and take 400 days to complete. The 2025 World Match Racing Tour season kicks off this week at the all-new Macao Match Cup,  8-12 January.  Twelve world class match racing teams will compete in the inaugural Macao match racing event,  including recently crowned,  eight-time match racing world champion Ian Williams from Great Britain,  and his Pindar by Manuport Logistics team.  This is video from Sodebo. In our earlier report they were headed to Australia, but now they have changed their minds, and have turned around, and are headed to the French island of Reunion, to make their rudder repairs. When we get more information we will upload it to this channel.
Like, Share, Subscribe to this channel for Global Sailing highlights. For the leader Charlie Dalin, and for second placed Yoann Richomme, the finish of their Vendée Globe does start to feel close. They need to remain 100% focused of course, and know the pitfalls that have befallen skippers before in the final phase of the solo non stop race around the world, but tomorrow could be their last full Wednesday at sea, for example. In a week’s time they should be well into the Bay of Biscay, and dealing with the final sprint to the line. And right now, although Dalin, skipper of MACIF Santé Prévoyance, is 115 miles ahead of Richomme, (PAPREC AKEA), it is still too close to call. Even more open is the battle for fourth down to 10th. There has been a reshuffle at Cabo Frio, north of Rio. Short term gains are with the skippers who have elected to stay west, closer to the rhumb line, so Jérémie Beyou, (Sharral), in fourth, Sam Goodchild, (VULNERABLE), in fifth, and Boris Herrmann, (Malizia-Seaexplorer), in sixth. But while their gain may be short term and will depend on their ability to work back to the east progressively to find the South Easter’ly trade winds, Nico Lunven, (HOLCIM PRB), and Paul Meilhat, (Biotherm), continue their investment to the east.
