Is the forest really the ideal home for wildlife? Filmmaker Jan Haft returns to the German woods of his childhood and into the Bavarian Forest National Park, where storms, bark beetles, wolves and lynx are rewriting the rules. Rare beetles reappear, capercaillie court in the snow and glowing fungus gnat larvae spin their nets in the dark. Which species truly belong to the dense forest?
