🌊 ALL NIGHT at the Helm! Guy deBoer Battles Shifting Winds | GGR2026 Special Report

⛵ ALL NIGHT HAND-STEERING! 🌊 Guy deBoer reports from the Atlantic!

In this special satellite phone report to Golden Globe Race HQ, GGR2026 skipper Guy deBoer shares his latest challenges as he continues heading south in the Chichester Class.

After briefly sheltering in the lee of Santa Maria, where the seas flattened and the wind almost disappeared, Guy completed a repair before heading back out to sea.

But there was no relaxing! With land nearby, Guy spent the entire night hand-steering his yacht.

💨 And the weather has changed dramatically!

After a week of winds exceeding 20 knots, the breeze has dropped to around 11 knots and shifted almost 90 degrees!

Now sailing close-hauled, Guy is working out his next strategy as he makes his way south towards the notorious Doldrums.

🎧 In this special report:

🧭 A dramatic 90-degree wind shift and a new course south

🌊 Planning his route towards the Doldrums

Despite a one-way satellite phone connection, Guy manages to deliver his update directly to GGR Race HQ!
